"Dr. Madeline Mae Ong is adjunct research faculty of the Ateneo School of Medicine and Public Health. She was a Public Health and Leadership Fellow of the Ateneo Center for Health Evidence, Action, and Leadership (AHEALS) where she studied issues surrounding primary care in rural settings in the Philippines. Her focus on primary care has led to her contribution to the development of the Competency Certification Framework for Primary Care Providers in accordance to the Universal Health Care Act of the Philippines. Her current research work focuses on health systems and policy, particularly universal health coverage; health service delivery, particularly HIV/AIDS and nutrition in primary care; and health governance, especially during disasters like the COVID-19 pandemic."
