
Deriving Lessons on Legislating Universal Health Care in the Philippines: A Historical Perspective (UHC Study)
The study aimed to inform future attempts to legislate health agenda and to help the national and local governments prepare for challenges and manage risks in the implementation of the law. Other countries that seek to legislate UHC may also learn from the Philippines’ experience. The results of the study include a historical narrative highlighting the legislative timeline, insights on the policy process that occurred, and their implications on the implementation of the UHC law.
