Myla is a Research Associate for Research Communications, and she leads ACRI’s efforts on Research and Health Communications. Her research journey began with the Ateneo Autism Study Group (AASG), where she was involved in the Fragile X syndrome study. She also served as a Research Assistant and project development officer on various mental health science projects. She also participated in public health research projects, including a COVID-19 seroprevalence study and a COVID-19 vaccine costing study in the Philippines.

The study will enable the set-up of laboratory facilities that will conduct FXS testing, paving the way for molecular testing of individuals with FXS and ASD in the country. Through this study, the prevalence of FXS and genetic mutations in ASD will be established.
