Jenica is a research associate in the Biotechnology Flagship Program of ACRI. She's highly interested in pursuing research in the genetics and molecular biology aspects of neurodevelopmental diseases, such as autism spectrum disorder. Her experience mostly revolves around laboratory-based work, primarily through research with the Ateneo Autism Study Group (AASG) in conducting fragile X syndrome testing. However, she's also interested in public health research and has joined projects, such as a COVID-19 seroprevalence study, and the COVID-19 vaccine costing study in the Philippines.
-
Neuro-developmental Disorders
Technological Transfer of Clinical and Molecular Advances in Autism
This project aims to narrow the knowledge and service gap for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
-
Neuro-developmental Disorders
Prevalence of Fragile X Syndrome in Children with ASD in the Philippines
The study will enable the set-up of laboratory facilities that will conduct FXS testing, paving the way for molecular testing of individuals with FXS and ASD in the country. Through this study, the prevalence of FXS and genetic mutations in ASD will be established.
